U12 Boys Summer League Final
We played near neighbours Killygarry in the final of the summer league championship in Breffni Park last Wednesday the 23rd August. Despite having a small panel to choose from our lads played their way all to the final playing some great football with wins over Butlers bridge, Killinkere, Knockbride and indeed the opposition on the night Killygarry it was not meant to be on the evening. Just a point down at half time against the wind our lads just fell short at the final whistle as lady luck avoided them at every corner. Thanks to all the coaches who have put in a lot of work with this panel of players over the year and we are sure we will see you back in Breffni sometime soon again.
Final Score Castletara 2.12 Killygarry 4.13. Well done Killygarry.
The panel of players were Darren McInerney, Cormac Callaghan, Killian Crowe, Kevin McGovern, Luke Gilmartin, Gavin Murtagh, Evan Crowe, Cian Crowe, Sean Og Teevan, Leo Jennings, Ben Smith, Darragh Smith, Noah Lynch, Adam Brady, Colin Coyle, Logan Holdsworth & Fionnan O Reilly.
A big thank you to all who helped on the evening and who organised the reception in the community centre afterwards for the boys and to Patrick Farrelly Ground works for the kind sponsorship of a new set of jerseys.

We have been drawn to play Castlerahan in round 2 which takes place next Tuesday in Ballyjamesduff, after which games will be played at weekends due to shortening of light and players starting third level colleges.
The format of the minor championship is similar to senior with 4 rounds to be played (a new draw each week). Top four teams after Rd 4 progress to semi finals.
